Dr. Suresh PS is currently working as an Assistant Professor, Grade I at School of Biotechnology, NIT Calicut an Institute of National Importance, Govt of India. He received his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore and JIPMER, Puducherry, respectively. He was the best outgoing/topper in both degrees and awarded Dr.RamaniPulimood and SatyaBhamamuraliRangarajangold medals, respectively. He then completed his Ph. D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2010 studying ovarian Biology in rodents and monkeys. His thesis was highly commended for the use of in vitro and in vivo approaches, properly designed rat and monkey animal models, use of several complementary state-of-the-art biochemical approaches to address actions of steroid hormones in ovaries/corpus luteum. To further enhance his research experience repertoire, he worked as a post-doctoral research scientist in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Medical College of Wisconsin, the USA where he initiated a study on Endocrine pharmacology and begin to understand how signalling pathways can affect anti-estrogen therapy in breast cancer. His work as a post-doctoral research scientist in Wexner Medical centre, Ohio State University, USA, for a brief period focused on liver cancer and miRNA therapeutics. He has authored more than 40 research articles with a cumulative impact factor 144.2 in various international reputed journals, including Nature Medicine, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, European Journal of Cell Biology etc., and presented papers in national and international conferences. He is one among the specially selected faculties by UGC, India, through a competitive centralized recruitment and selection for his exceptional creativity, zeal, and commitment to research and teaching. He has got several awards, fellowships, and honours and serves as an editorial board member in related journals to his research and also a member in various international scientific societies. He was a visiting professor to Tokushima University, Japan and Sakura fellow. Broadly, current research projects in his lab at NIT Calicut focus on endocrine cancers, signal transduction, reproductive and Molecular Endocrinology and supported by research grants from DST, DBT, UGC and NIT Calicut
